Pretty sad day today…..only had a few hours with the family before we had to leave. It was a mad flurry of packing, chatting, eating, playing with Shania and more packing. Before long, it was 10.30am and time to get the cars loaded up with luggage and people and head off to the airport. Luckily we live so close to the airport! Jen and Javier showed up at the airport to say goodbye to us as well so it was good to get in a good cuddle and play with both babies. They are both sooo adorable. It was sooo sad to say goodbye to Dad, my sister and Shania. Going to miss them so much. Wish I didn’t have to leave but then on the other hand, eager for the next adventure to start.

We got into Singapore at 2pm and it was pouring and quite cool. We had to check our luggage out as our next flight wasn’t till midnight. We left the luggage at the left luggage section and then hopped on the bus to go to Parkway Parade to while away a few hours until the restaurant opened. LOL….ok…you can all roll your eyes!!! Our mission….or maybe I should say MY mission this time in Singapore was to have Chilli Crab at Jumbo seafood restaurant. LOL….research was done on the internet….found a location close to the airport with a shopping centre close by. This whole trip was orchestrated around Chilli crab!! Hehehe….anyways, the kids enjoyed Parkway Parade. Jordan headed straight to borders and stayed there the 2 hours we shopped. We didn’t buy much, mostly browsing, but I took Mich’s advice and got fresh pretzels ….yummo!!!
Before long, our tummies were rumbling and we took a couple of cabs to the Eastcoast seafood centre and headed into Jumbo. The place was already quite full and it was nice to dine in an alfresco setting overlooking the water. We ordered one chillli crab, scallop yam rings, squid stuffed yu tiao and cereal prawns. OMG…everything was divine and yes, I took photos….and yes…will share them one day….sooon!! Jeromel tried a few of the scallop yam rings and squid stuffed yu tiao and one cereal prawns….and then threw it all up…all over the chair and a bit on the floor. None on himself which I was very grateful for. Something musn’t have agreed with his stomach. We panicked thinking there was some peanut in his food and dosed him with some zyrtec and his puffer….thank god he didn’t have any trouble breathing.

Then it was back to the airport to collect our luggage and had a brief break to freshen up before taking the shuttle bus to the budget terminal to catch our Cebu pacific flight to Cebu. When we got to the terminal…it was packed …..all these Filipinos heading home for Christmas laden with heaps of luggage. There were two queues for our flight and our queue progressed sooo slowly. An hour later, when we got to the counter….disaster struck!!!
WHAT???!!!! CLIFF HANGER?????????
Sorry to hear that Jeromel’s stomach didn’t agree with his food. But I’m glad that all of you liked what you had. It’s one of my favourite restaurants, but I’m ashamed to say that we didn’t get there this time. And I’m glad you like Aunt Anne’s Pretzels too. Which one did you get? My favourite snack is the Cinnamon Sugar pretzel, with a cup of their lime juice loaded with ice.
Parkway Parade is my favourite haunt too. It used to be when I was in high school, and it still is right now, even though it has changed tremendously.
Can’t wait to hear the 2nd half of the story!
aaaarrrgggghhhhhh – just found your travel blog and reminiscing about Brunei etc and can just picture you all at the airport etc – and I want to know what happened??????????? Will check back in later
Take care and happy travelling
